What is Eastwood Tamil Study Centre?
ETSC is a language teaching school to teach the Tamil language and to promote Tamil Culture. ETSC is following the NSW Federation of Tamil School
How much is the enrolment fee?
The annual enrollment fee is $120 (or if paying by term $40/term)
Whom do I call to let someone know that my child will be absent from school?
You may call/whatsApp the teacher or the school Principal.
What should my child bring to Tamil classes?
Just stationary. We provide the learning material and snack.
Why is our program different?
We have a practical approach. The classes are very small & intensive.
The teachers are highly experienced and speak in Tamil and English. The method is lively and innovative. We provide value to our services such a free assessment and trial classes. Our students are supervised at all times and we have a nut-free food policy.

Why do I need to fill out this application?
Australian law requires that where an association, carries out work involving contact with children, the worker whether a volunteer or paid, must sign the above form declaring that they have not been prohibited from working with children. We encourage all parents and guardians to sign this form at the time of enrolment. You may seek independent legal advice. Further information on prohibited persons is on the form.
Will the students be given homework and exams?
Yes, students will be given some homework or spelling. A mid-term test is scheduled during the school year. Report cards will be sent home twice a year.
How do I register my child?
Registration for all students usually opens up in January End/February beginning for the academic year.

what age can I bring my child to Tamil school?
4 years is the ideal age for your child to begin Tamil classes.
What are the school's hours of operation?
Classes at Eastwood Tamil Study Centre are offered on Saturdays from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM, on Saturdays.
ETSC welcomes everyone in the community. Our students come from all backgrounds, such as families from Sri Lanka, Tamilnadu, Malaysia, and Singapore, and many people who have no Tamil connection at all, but want to learn the language and culture.

Will my child automatically be promoted to the next level at the end of the school year?
We want to ensure that each child is in a proper learning environment. Promotion to the next level is based on the teacher’s recommendations. Proficiency is the key determining factor.
